Our program and emergent curriculum is child-centred and based on individual child’s interests, needs and strengths. Our emergent curriculum is guided by the Victorian Early Years Learning and Developmental Framework (VEYLDF) and consists of learning experiences (spontaneous and intentional), interactions and routines which help to optimise learning and development. Our caring, qualified and experienced educators use fundamental components from the Montessori approach and Reggio Emilia approach to deliver open-ended play and learning experiences, for all children to promote a holistic development.
At Silkwood Stars we promote sustainable practices which are embedded throughout our program. Working in a natural environment is of utmost importance to our centre’s practices. We support a gardening program, with a veggie patch where the children learn and grow an appreciation for the environment.
